The Commission offers several project-based funding programs for nonprofit organizations located in the District of Columbia.
Capital Projects (CP) Grant Program (formerly Facilities and Buildings (FAB))
The Capital Projects grant supports qualified nonprofit arts, humanities, and arts education organizations. It also assists arts or humanities service organizations. These organizations may own or rent facilities, intend to own or rent facilities, or seek capital project support. The support can be for permanent property, technology, equipment, or digital assets. These assets are designed for the training, management, production, or presentation of arts or humanities performances or exhibitions.

East Arts (EA) Grant Program
The East Arts Project (EA) grant offers support to qualified nonprofit organizations. Eligible organizations identify as BIPOC-centered organizations (Black, Indigenous, and people of color). This grant program supports providing exemplary arts and humanities experiences to residents in Northeast and Southeast DC.

Projects, Events, or Festivals (PEF) Grant Program
The Projects, Events, or Festivals (PEF) Grant offers support to qualified individuals and nonprofit organizations. These organizations are in the arts, humanities, arts education, and service sectors. They aim to deliver exemplary programs that promote arts and/or humanities activities. These activities target a diverse range of communities within the District of Columbia.

Lincoln Theatre Rental (Underwriting) Support
CAH provides underwriting support for venue rental of the Lincoln Theatre at 1215 U Street, NW. The Lincoln Theatre is operated by "It's My Theatre" (IMT) subject to its funding availability. Annually, CAH provides a limited number of days of support to nonprofit entities (applicants). CAH pays IMT directly for the venue rental cost for approved use of the theatre.
