Overview

The East Arts (EA) grant program offers support to qualified nonprofit organizations that identify as BIPOC-centered organizations (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) to deliver exemplary arts and humanities experiences to DC residents who reside within the northeast (NE) and southeast (SE) quadrants of the District of Columbia. Projects can include, but are not limited to the following disciplines: dance; design; folk and traditional arts; literature; media arts; music; theater; visual arts, and humanities.

Program Objectives

By making its EA grant awards, CAH endeavors to meet the following goals:

  • Provide access to high-quality arts and humanities experiences for residents who reside in the NE and SE quadrants of the District of Columbia.
  • Enhance the quality of life by supporting a vibrant community identity through the arts and humanities.
  • Support activities that highlight and elevate the creative excellence and accomplishments of artists and arts programming in the NE and SE quadrants of the District.

The Commission on the Arts and Humanities seeks applications for the FY24 East Arts (EA) Grant Program.
