As the designated arts agency for the District of Columbia, CAH is required by the terms of our partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts to periodically develop a new strategic plan for the agency. This plan (also known as the state arts plan) is meant to help guide CAH in exercising its duty to "Take action concerning the needs of the residents of the District of Columbia for activities in the arts and humanities, and concerning the development and improvement of activities in the arts and humanities in the District of Columbia."
CAH requests comments from the public on this draft of the agency's new strategic plan for FY 2021—2023. Months of research, interviews, focus groups, and surveys have already gone into the creation of this new strategic plan, and we invite you to give us your feedback and suggestions before the final draft is produced.
Comments will be received and read by the consultant team CAH has contracted to develop the strategic plan. Comments will typically not receive a direct response unless the consultants need additional information or clarification. Following the conclusion of the comment period, a Response to Comments will be published on this website, which will aggregate and summarize all comments received and provide responses from the agency to include if suggestions were incorporated into the final version of the strategic plan and why, or if not incorporated, why not. The consultants will maintain the anonymity of commentors throughout the process.
The comment period closed on May 29, 2021 at 11:59 PM.
