As stewards of the arts in Washington, DC, we take our roles and responsibilities very seriously. One of the most important duties we have is to operate transparently, in fulfilling our mission, thanks to our staff and Commissioners at the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
DCCAH Commissioners are volunteers who meet regularly and represent the various wards throughout the city. The agenda for each Commission meeting is normally available 7-10 days prior. Minutes are normally available 60 days later, after they are voted on and approved by the Commission at a subsequent meeting.
Commission meetings are open and members of the public are encouraged to attend the 30 minute public comment period during the start of each meeting. Up to 10 associations, individuals, or organizations may request a 3 minute slot to speak during this period, but must do so by emailing Rhea Beckett, Program Support Specialist, no later than 24 hours before the meeting day and time. Slots are limited and are made available on a first come first served basis.
