FY22 Relief and Recovery Fund Organizations (RRFo) FAQs

As of 6/3/2022

General:

What is the difference between RRFi and RRFo?

This year CAH is able to offer two Relief and Recovery Fund programs. RRFi is for individual artists and humanities practitioners who live in DC and RRFo is for non-profit artistic and humanities based organizations, who are not already FY22 grantees.

Eligibility:

If we received a CAH grant in FY22, are we eligible for the RRFo grant?

No, organizations who have been awarded a grant of any kind in the FY22 cycle are not eligible for the RRFo. This includes all FY22 grant programs: FY22 GOS, FY22 FAB-Traditional, FY22 AHEP, FY22 FTE, FY22 PEFo, FY22 LFT, FY22 EOR, and FY22 FAB-Relief.
The specific aim of this program is to broaden CAH's reach to organizations who have not had access to funding in the 2022 grant cycle.

Why is this specific relief grant only for new organizations?

The FY22 Relief and Recovery Fund for Organizations was created to further the efforts of inclusion, equity, and access by extending the reach of CAH to organizations who are new applicants to CAH or did not receive an award in the FY22 grant cycle. Based on prior feedback, CAH wanted to offer an 'on-ramp' for funding for organizations who may not have been successful before or did not have the opportunity.

Application Mandatory Documents:

Is the Organizational Demographic form to be included with RRFo applications?

The inclusion of the Organizational Demographics Overview (ODO) Form is not required at the time of application, but may be required of each applicant prior to award notification.

Our organization files an IRS 990-N form, not the 990.Will you accept the attached print out from irs.gov, which has all of the information that they make available for that form?

We recognize that some organizations files the 990-N "postcard", so we are able to accept that form.

Financials:

What are allowable costs for this award?

Since this is a relief and recovery grant, the funds may be used for "general operating expenses" such as rent, equipment, salaries incurred between Oct. 1, 2021 through Sept. 30, 2022. Full details can be found under "Allowable Costs" (on page 4) in the RFA, which you can find here: FY22 Relief and Recovery Fund (RRF) Organizations RFA.
