Dave Steadman is a nonprofit and fundraising professional with more than two decades of experience advancing arts, education, and community organizations in Washington, DC, and beyond. He currently serves as an independent nonprofit consultant, advising organizations on strategic planning, fundraising, and governance.
Before working as a consultant, Dave held senior development roles at the National Theatre Foundation, St. Albans School, and Hamilton College. His expertise spans individual and major giving, campaign strategy, volunteer and board management, and philanthropic partnerships that strengthen creative and educational institutions.
A lifelong musician and arts advocate, Dave studied music and English at Hamilton College with a concentration in choral conducting, and has performed for many years with The Washington Chorus. He has also served on multiple arts and education boards and participated in theatrical productions throughout his life, experiences that continue to inform his commitment to DC’s creative community.
A resident of Ward 3, Dave holds a Master of Public Administration with a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from The George Washington University. He is dedicated to championing equitable access to the arts, fostering community engagement, and helping the District’s creative ecosystem thrive for future generations.
