(Washington, DC) – The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) extends its condolences to family of Norman Scribner and The Choral Arts Society of Washington on the passing of their founder and Artistic Director Emeritus.
“Norman Scribner was regarded as one of the finest musicians in the District of Columbia, as well as one of the most gifted choral conductors in the entire country,” said Lionell Thomas, Executive Director. “His work in the arts helped to make our city great, and we celebrate his many accomplishments.”
Mr. Scribner died at his home on March 22nd at the age of 79 years of old. The Choral Arts Society of Washington will offer their November 15, 2015 concert of Brahms: Ein deutsches Requiem in memory of Mr. Scribner.
