Find Out How to Apply for the New Capital Region Touring Initiative

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the Maryland State Arts Council are pleased to announce the launch of the Capital Region Touring Initiative to support District of Columbia venues wishing to present performing artists from Maryland included on the Maryland State Arts Council's (MSAC) Touring Artist Roster.

The roster showcases some of the Maryland's most talented and diverse artists in dance, music and theater. District-based nonprofit organizations that meet the eligibility criteria are invited to apply for one-time funding support to help defray costs related to the presentation MSAC artists at venues within the District of Columbia. The program goals include expanding the pool of performing artists presented to Maryland and District of Columbia audiences, furthering the artistic development of these performing artists by enhancing their marketability beyond their home states, and the promotion of the unique cultural traditions of the Washington, DC-Maryland region.

The application deadline for DC venues is Monday, May 12, 2008 at 7 pm.
