The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities is pleased to announce its final grant opportunities for the 2010 fiscal year. These small-scale, quick response grants offer $500-$2,000 to individual artists and organization based in the District.
The Folk and Traditional Arts Mini Grant Program offers $500-$1,000 to individuals and organizations practicing or supporting folk traditions. Art forms include but are not limited to swing, reggae capoeira, African drumming, quilting, go-go, classical Indian dance, liturgical dance, jazz, origami, storytelling and many more. The Folk and Traditional Arts Mini-Grant Program application deadline is Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 7 pm.
The Small Project Program Grant offers $2,000 to individuals and organizations that encourage the growth of quality arts activities throughout the District. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to arts presentations, technical assistance services to aid fundraising, marketing, documentation of activities through photography, brochures, portfolios, “demo” tapes or art related conferences, workshops and seminars that strengthen artistic and professional development. The Small Projects Program Grant application deadline date is Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at 7 pm.
