Bowser Administration Unveils New Mural Commemorating the Women’s Suffrage Movement

(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Thursday, October 15, 2020, at 11:00 a.m., the Mayor’s Office on Women’s Policy and Initiatives, the Commission on Arts and Humanities, and muralists Mia DuVall, Cita Sadeli and Candice Taylor will unveil a new mural commemorating the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, and paying homage to the Women’s Suffrage movement. Three separate murals together form a masterful work of art displayed in the historic and lively Anacostia. The images recognize women who have fought for women’s equality in decades past and serves as a symbol of hope for future progress.
