Mr. Edmund C. Fleet has more than two decades of experience in leadership, education and community development. He served as the Executive Director of Building Bridges Across the River @ THEARC. During his tenure, he oversaw significant growth in programs and services offered to a changing community in Southeast, Washington.
Mr. Fleet was appointed as the Interim Chair of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities under Mayor Gray. He is a strong supporter of providing access and exposure to the Arts for Washingtonians who reside East of the River. His professional portfolio includes working as an educator with the District of Columbia Public Schools and serving on Mayor Muriel Bower’s transition team.
Mr. Fleet has been a member of several non-profit boards including the DC Primary Care Association, Life STARTS and Operation HOPE. He is the recipient of numerous leadership awards from non-profit organizations, local churches and the Metropolitan Police Department.
Mr. Fleet completed his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education Degrees at Howard University. He is a devoted and loving father to his daughter, Noelle.
