FY19 Facilities and Buildings (FAB) - Guidelines and Questions

The Facilities and Buildings (FAB) grant has three different request types. Applicants are encouraged to consider all three categories to ensure they are applying under the most relevant heading. More specific examples are available in the Request for Applications (RFA) for each request type. Planning / Design Leased Cultural Facilities Projects Cultural Facilities Projects
• Consultants’ fees, travel and expenses to develop plans for capital projects
• Direct costs associated with developing and producing the plan

Only for organizations wtih 1-7 years remaining on lease

• Professional facilities services
• Equipment that is non-consumable, portable, depreciable and not made-to-order
• Projects that increase physical access

Organizations that own, or have greater than 7 years on lease

• All eligible expenses for Leased Cultural Facilities Projects, plus:
• Parts and labor for capital improvements
• Repair, purchase, and/or installation of fixtures and equipment that is non-consumable and depreciable
• Direct costs of acquisition of a facility or land
• Construction of a new facility, or expansion of the footprint of an existing facility
