Henry "Box" Brown: FOREVER

Book Launch & Reception: Wednesday, June 5, 6-8PM

At 200 I Street SE, Suite 1400

Presented as part of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities' 5x5 Temporary Public Art Initiative in 2012, Wilmer Wilson IV's performance suite entitled Henry Box Brown: FOREVER has made an indelible mark on the world's stage.  Inspired by the ingenuity of Brown's historic 19th century escape from slavery, the work was recently named among the top 50 Public Art Projects by The Americans for the Arts' Year in Review.

As part of the artist's creative process, Wilson has extensively documented his own performances through photography and video. The resultant imagery has recently been published within a book capturing the fleeting moments of this significant new work in the American Canon.

Please join Wilmer Wilson IV in the launch of his exceptional publication, hosted by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
