Edmund C. Fleet has over 15 years of education and community development experience. He has been serving as the executive director of the Town Hall Education Arts and Recreation Campus (THEARC) since the spring of 2006. Under his leadership, THEARC has grown out of its startup phase into a debt-free center that offers top-line programs and services to people of all walks of life.
Fleet’s previous experiences include serving as director of community programs with William C. Smith and Company and teaching for the District of Columbia Public Schools. He has served on the boards of LifeSTARTS and the District of Columbia Primary Care Association. In addition, he received several awards including the William C. Smith and Company Award of Recognition for Leadership of the Summer Youth Employment Program and the Apartment and Office Building Association of Metropolitan Washington’s Outstanding Leadership Award. Having worked in DC’s Ward 7 for numerous years, he often serves as its ambassador to the greater Washington area.
Fleet holds a master’s degree in education from Howard University. He is married to Ericka Fleet and they have one son, Victor.
