Biography
Gloria Nauden
Executive Director
 
Gloria A. Nauden was appointed by Mayor Adrian M. Fenty to serve as executive director for the DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities in September 2008.
 
Ms. Nauden previously served as a commissioner for DCCAH since December 2007 with a focus on arts education initiatives, agency outreach efforts and fostering ideas on how to further develop the creative economy in the District.
 
Ms. Nauden came to public service with 15 years of private sector experience and innovation in marketing, video production, concert production, creative direction, advertising and sponsorship solicitation working with world-class brands such as BET, Radio One, Red Bull, Love, The Park, XM, Verizon, Lincoln Mercury, Ford & Moet Hennessy USA.
 
With almost two decades as a Ward 6 Washingtonian, Ms. Nauden has been able to exercise her passion for community service. She has served as a volunteer at Parklands Community Center, located in THEARC Community Center in Southeast DC; Sasha Bruce House; The Covenant House; Thurgood Marshall Center, House of Ruth; The MLK Memorial Fund; Food & Friends; DC Special Olympics; Rock The Vote and the Joint Center for Political & Economic Studies.
 
Ms. Nauden is most proud of her internship development and work placement efforts throughout her career, ultimately securing jobs in the entertainment and media industry for dozens of former students.
 
Find her on the weekends riding her bike, playing tennis or visiting a museum with her daughter Phoenix.
