2008 Summer Internship Program

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities offers exciting internships in arts management. Interns have the opportunity to gain job experience, build professional skills, and network with arts professionals throughout Washington, DC. Internships are open to college students (college sophomore minimum) and graduate students. Summer internships are full-time (40 hours per week) and pay a monthly stipend ($1,000 per month). Students should contact their school's placement office or the Commission's internship coordinator for college credit details. Students from American University's Washington Semester program are eligible for Commission internships. 

The deadline for Summer 2008 Internship applications is Friday, April 11, 2008 at 5:30 pm.
All application materials must be received in the Commission office by this date (postmark not accepted).
No faxed or emailed applications will be accepted.

To apply, please submit:

  • Cover letter stating area of interest and goals for internship
  • Resume
  • Three letters of reference (academic or professional only)
  • Official transcript
  • Writing sample (1,000 words)
