Teacher Mini-Grant Program

The purpose of the Teacher Mini-Grant program is to encourage creative arts education projects in DC Public Schools (DCPS) and Public Charter Schools (DCPCS) and to support the development and implementation of innovative teaching strategies to support DCPS Arts Content Standards. This grant is available to arts teachers (visual arts, music, dance, creative writing and theater), grades pre-K-12, in DCPS and DCPCS. Funds may not be used to augment teacher salaries during the normal school day.

The final application deadline for the FY 2008 Teacher Mini-Grant program is Wednesday, June 13, 2008 at 7pm.

Upcoming workshops to help teachers fill out applications will be held:
  • Wednesday, May 14, 2008, from 5:30 pm -7 pm
  • Wednesday, June 11, 2008 from 5:30 pm -7 pm

Funding for the FY 2009 Teacher Mini-Grant program will be offered three times during the fiscal year. Upcoming deadlines are:

  • Friday, September 26, 2008 at 7 pm
  • Wednesday, January 16, 2009 at 7 pm
  • Friday, April 10, 2009 at 7 pm

Workshops to help arts teachers fill out applications will be held at the Commission's office on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, September 10, 2008, from 5:30 pm-7 pm
  • Wednesday, January 7, 2009, from 5:30 pm-7 pm
  • Wednesday, April 1, 2009, from 5:30 pm-7 pm
The FY 2009 Small Projects Program Application and Guidelines will be available by May 30, 2008.
