Artist Fellowship Program

The Artist Fellowship Program offers grants to individuals in a broad range of artistic endeavors. Individual Fellowships support individual artists who make significant contributions to the arts and who promote the arts in the District of Columbia through artistic excellence. Fellowship artistic disciplines rotate on a biannual basis.

Disciplines eligible for FY 2009 funds:

  • Media
  • Visual Arts
  • Crafts

Disciplines eligible for FY 2010 funds:

  • Dance
  • Interdisciplinary/Performance Art
  • Literature
  • Music
  • Theater
The deadline for the FY 2009 Artist Fellowship Program is Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 7 pm.

Workshops
The Commission hosts a series of workshops to assist individuals in preparing their Artist Fellowship Program  applications. Workshops are held in several different facilities in Washington, DC. No prior reservations are required to attend workshops. View directions to workshop locations.

Artist Fellowship Program workshops will be held:

  • Wednesday, May 7, 2008
    DC Commission on the Arts & Humanities
    6-7:30 pm
  • Friday, May 23, 2008
    THE ARC
    Noon-1:30 pm
