Disco and Motown Legends to Rock DC for Free
(Washington, DC) The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities invites the Washington community to celebrate September with DC Grooves: two high energy dance parties on September 22 and 29. The shows will be held on grounds of the Woodrow Wilson Plaza at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center located at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. The concerts are free and open to the public.
The series kicks off September 22 at 7 pm with Disco in the District featuring a star-studded lineup of dance favorites: Rose Royce, Evelyn Champagne King, Rob Base with DJ EZ Rock and the Queen of Disco Dance music Martha Wash.
On September 29 at 7 pm the festivities continue with Motown in the Downtown. The Temptations Review featuring noted Temptation and crowd favorite Dennis Edwards will perform the greatest hits from one of America’s most famous bands.
“These dance parties will add to the cultural and social aspects of Washington, DC. By presenting DC Grooves, we are showing that the city’s downtown area is a place to have fun and engage in the many activities that Washington has to offer,” said Anthony Gittens, Executive Director of the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. “More importantly, we want people to come out and dance, dance, dance!”
The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities presents the concerts with support from the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. DESHO Productions is the concert production company.
