DC Arts Commission and Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation Release DC Performing Arts Presenters Initiative 

Funding program to support touring performing artists in the District

The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH) announced a partnership with the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (MAAF) to offer a special funding program to support the presentation of touring artists/ensembles at venues within the District of Columbia that expand or diversify presenter programming and increase access to and appreciation for the performing arts.

“We are thrilled to partner to partner with the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation to provide this opportunity to arts organizations in the District. Not only do organizations benefit from the Performing Arts Presenters Initiative, but the most importantly, the residents of DC benefit fro the exposure of new performances and views of the world.”

The initiative is designed to support performing arts engagements and related activities. District-based nonprofit organizations that reach under-served communities with operations budget less than $500,000 are encouraged to apply. Support is available for projects taking place between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013. Deadline for applications is February 1, 2012.

To help potential applicants prepare their applications, Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation is offering a free informational webinar on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 1 pm-2:15 pm. The webinar will cover the program’s goals, objectives, eligibility criteria and the new online application process, as well as provide an opportunity to answer your questions.
